EPFO Retirement Fund Manager tweets on its complaint registration system that subscribers can now file their complaints at epfigms.gov.in and also track their complaint status on the website. EPFO member portal has cut their expected period of settlement of claims like pension, PF withdrawal, and insurance to 10 days. The authority has introduced online claim settlement policy on May 2017. It has also planned to settle claims eventually of all the bank account and Aadhaar seeded EPF accounts within three hours of getting application. According to the provisions introduced in 2017, for claim settlements, timeline is 10 days, and for complaint management, it is 15 days. In the Citizens Charter 2017, these are new provisions launched by Labour Minister, Bandaru Dattatreya, in Bangalore. According to it, the Charter is an initiative to ensure accountability and transparency on the EPFO and make grievance redressal and service delivery system more efficient. The body must also have an e-court management system to address the grievances. It is an electronic case management mechanism which is designed as a step to paperless system in which court procedure of EPFAT and EPF & MP Act, 1952 will be effective on digital environment. Along with it, automated messages will be sent to litigants to facilitate easy access to tribunal on their register mobile numbers on their cases. It added, stakeholders can also keep track on the cases online. However, it is also cautioned by EPFO that the complaints of the users will be entertained only when the Universal Portable Account Number of the member is given with the complaint.
